Unmistakably
"Lindquist," this manzanita vase incorporates
irregularities and "craggy-ness" as an integral element of design. A circa
1976 manzanita vase by Melvin was acquired by the Metropolitan Museum of Art, NYC, in 1978
for the 20th Century Decorative Arts collection.
Manzanita, an underground root burl found in southern California, is known for its
hardness and density and rich, oxblood color. Manzanita is one of Melvin's favorite
woods. |
